Toast

Hi Ingrid,
Sorry I haven't kept in touch about Sam - I named him Toast.  He is fantastic.  He is by my side at all times and I adore him.

We live in a very small historic town - we walk most everywhere from work, family homes, friends and town events and Toast is always with us.  He loves riding in the car as well so if he knows my keys are in hand he is excited
to go. He slieeps upstairs with us - but on his own padded egg-crate bed with a nice comforter and sometimes my cat Felix sleeps next to him. Overall - with the exception of getting too excited and peeing in the house - he is the most perfect dog.  I love him so much and I must say - I believe
the feeling is mutual.  He is clearly "my dog" but recognizing quickly what a great cook my husband is - he has made himself quite the "man's dog" as well. I am the graphic artist at our local paper and Toast has been in the local community news on 3 occassions and also used in a local ad.  I am attaching a picture of him drinking out of the fountain at my office at the newspaper. When he comes to work with me - he just lays in the floor and doesn't even get up when people walk in the office (unless they address him and then he is happy to slowly greet them and then usually lays back down with a big grunt.) I want to thank you for Toast - I love him so much and he is just great. We keep regular visits with the vet and he still battles skin problems but since my vet lives two blocks away - she is always checking his skin and offering tips.  Our pastor and the local priest held a pet blessing in town and Toast was given special attention by all - He is so great.  HE UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING!  The only time he is sad is when we have to leave him home with the cats but he seems to understand that he is in charge and is so happy when I return home.  He loves all children and has been invited to the little public school here for show and tell.  He is an absolute show-off.  I am opening a coffee -house in the buiding that we own (we have a converted upstairs loft - we live upstairs and we own the entire historic building.)  Toast looks out the display windows at people walking by and
they all wave and knock on the window at him - he is a big attraction.  I know I sound like a proud mom and I really am - my teenage son loves him too and I am just so thankful to have him in our lives. You are so great to have brought us together and I mean it with all my heart
when I say "thank-you for my Toast."

Kindest regard,
Laura Hudgins
